Sarah Crombie grew up and graduated high school in Oxford, MA. She studied social work at the University of Southern Maine in Portland where she earned her master’s degree in 2006. In 2014 she became licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

Sarah has over 20 years’ worth of experience helping people. In addition to private practice, her work history includes Program Director for the YWCA of Central Mass supporting people struggling with abusive relationships, Elder Protective Services Director for Somerville Cambridge Elder Services, Elder Protective Services Supervisor for Aging Services of North Central Mass, Discharge Planner for acute rehab hospital Encompass Health, Solution Health Primary Care Social Worker providing complex care management, and Clinical Social Worker for UMass Neurology supporting people with epilepsy, stroke history, dementia, TBIs, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s.

Sarah has expressed gratitude for these work opportunities and feels as though they have provided her with a deep level of understanding of the human experience, as well as a strong knowledge foundation for navigating systems, advocating for quality care, and seeking best overall wellbeing.

In 2024 Sarah decided to return to private practice to best help people utilizing all of her skills and experiences. She is skilled at analyzing how people process information and helping people to navigate difficult times in life.

She believes we are all unique so she tailors her approach for each individual. She tends to utilize a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

“I know that life can be hard. I created this practice because I believe that it is worth working through the things that weigh us down to have the best quality of life possible. I believe in celebrating resilience. And I believe, even in the darkest of times, in finding joy.”
